Who We Are
Mercury Telecom is a full-service communications company headquartered and founded in Midland, MI in 1996. Today, the company provides a complete line of communications products and services, including high-speed Internet access, hosting, digital phone services, and computer repair. Mercury Telecom’s growth can be attributed to the vision of its President, Dave Sovereen, and his commitment to providing quality products and services with exceptional customer care.
Our roots date back to 1992, when Dave had a vision of starting an electronic Bulletin Board Service (BBS) and launched Mercedes On-Line Systems to the residents of sunny South Florida. After moving to Midland, MI and establishing Mercury Telecom, Dave was called upon to help launch LakeShore OnLine, an Internet Service Provider in Manitowoc, WI. In the summer of 2004, Mercury Telecom had the opportunity to acquire the customers of LakeShore OnLine, which it did, and has maintained its presence in the two states ever since. In the spring of 2014, MercuryTel was launched within Mercury Telecom, and provides superior digital phone services and systems to homes and businesses alike.

Dave
President
David founded Mercury Telecom in March of 1996 with the desire to deliver high-quality Internet services to the mid-Michigan area and currently serves as President and CEO. Under his vision and leadership, Mercury Telecom has grown from a basement project to a multi-million dollar company serving thousands of customers across Michigan and Wisconsin. David sets company direction and policy, as well as oversees the company's network engineering and operations. Prior to starting Mercury Telecom, David worked for Hearst Corporation, where he built and launched two Internet service providers, one of which he operated on a daily basis. In his spare time, David enjoys the outdoors, tennis, golf, and traveling.

Tim
Bald Eagle
Tim is a field technician in the Midland office. He has been working for Mercury since December 2006. He has a bachelor’s degree in Network Security from Davenport University. Tim installs and repairs service for customers in Michigan. When he is not out doing installs and repairs, he is answering technical support phone calls and repairing computers. Before working at Mercury, Tim worked in telecommunications for Tek Systems. In his spare time Tim and his wife, Tricia, enjoy spending time together. They like camping and Tim enjoys golfing.

Codebreaker
Jason joined Mercury Telecom in 2013. He is currently attending Davenport University, pursuing a degree in Computer Programming. A lot of what he knows has been self-taught, and he is a firm believer that sometimes breaking things is the best way to learn how to fix them. When not at work, Jason enjoys spending all the time he can with his wife and children. His hobbies included graphic design, software development, electronics, and automotive customization.

Business Sales Account Manager
Danae joined Mercury Telecom in 2021 in the Midland office as our Business Sales Account Manager. Danae brings over fifteen years of customer service, marketing, and sales to the company. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and the family dog, Maverick. When she is not busy Chauffeuring her daughters to sporting events, you can find her outdoors. Whether it’s camping, fishing, gardening or snowboarding, she is always smiling and living life to the fullest!

Tech Support
Ashley joined Mercury Telecom as the first female Technical Support Representative we've had for as far back as we can remember. Ashley has over six years of experience in the customer service industry and three in telecommunications. When she is not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her large family outdoors. Camping, swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, and fishing are some of her favorite outdoor activities. Ashley also enjoys rugby, a good movie and trying out new craft breweries.
